Getting Started

Welcome to BankProspector! Here’s a quick rundown of how to get oriented and start prospecting.

Logging In

Head to bankprospector.com and sign in with the email and password you used when you created your account. Once you’re in, you’ll land on your Dashboard.

Note: Your license is for a single named user. Logging in from multiple IP addresses in the same day will lock your account. If you and your assistant work from the same office, you’re fine — just don’t share logins across different locations.

The Sidebar Navigation

The left sidebar is your main way to get around. Here’s what you’ll see:

  • Dashboard: Your home base with quick actions, watchlist analytics, saved searches, and recent exports.
  • Distressed Pro Academy: Access to training content (if you have an Academy subscription).
  • Bank & CU Data: Search Banks, Bank Trends, Search Credit Unions, Credit Union Trends, and Saved Searches.
  • My Work: Contacts, CSV Exports, Watchlists, Tags, Notes, and Reminders.
  • Distressed Note Industry: Loan Servicers and Investors directories.

Your First Steps

If you’re brand new, here’s a simple workflow to get going:

  • 1. Search for banks in your area. Go to Search Banks under Bank & CU Data and filter by state or region.
  • 2. Explore a bank’s profile. Click on any bank name to see its full Overview, History, Contacts, and Branches.
  • 3. Add banks to your Watchlist. Click the Target button on any bank page to start tracking it.
  • 4. Find contacts. Go to the Contacts tab on a bank’s page and use your Enrichment Credits to unlock decision-maker info.
  • 5. Make your calls. Use the contact info to start building relationships with asset managers and workout officers.

💡 Tip: Don’t try to boil the ocean. Start with a handful of banks in your area, learn the data, and build from there.
